Is Laser Tattoo Removal Painful and What to Expect...

If I had a penny for every time I got asked if laser tattoo removal hurts, then I think I would be a millionaire.
Everyones pain threshold is different, some people find the feeling very similar to having a tattoo, others feel its less painful and some people say it's more painful.
Things to take onboard, the position of the tattoo on the body will determine the feeling of the laser, tattoos that are in sensitive areas such as neck, stomach, under arm may feel more discomfort than having a tattoo removed on the forearm or bicep area.
Tattoos over a bone area such as ribs, elbow and feet can also feel more discomfort as the skin is sensitive and close to the bone.
On a positive note, here at Faded Ink we always apply an ice pack on the area, which takes away some of the discomfort and if the area is quite big and you really don't like the feeling then you can apply some numbing cream prior to attending your session.
One thing to remember is that laser tattoo removal is really quick, unlike having a tattoo, the discomfort feeling only lasts whilst you are having the laser, once the laser stops you don't really have any further feeling or discomfort.
The best way to describe the feeling is a rubber band snapping against your skin, uncomfortable but bearable.
